END OF THE AFFAIR, THE (0)
I did not like this movie. It was slow. I cannot stand
those Finnes brothers. They are girlymen to me. They are wimpy.
Their characters are always just shy of masculine. And there Raphe--or
Ralphe or whatever the heck his name is-- lay in all his radiant glory
for the world to view....and pretty Julianne let us see everything from
here to China. Julianne will no longer be called the pretty Julianne
Moore. She will now be called the Vulgar Julianne Moore. I
wasted $4.50. But at least I didn't buy concessions.
ENEMY AT THE GATE (9)
Jude Law, Ed Harris, Finnes and a cast of many unknowns to me, tell
the story of love, betrayal, war, and snipers: Dismal Russia/Germany.
Graphic shootings. Intense. I thought of this movie many times
throughout the week after seeing it. A haunting movie.
EVOLUTION (6 1/2)
If you've always wanted to see David Duchovny's naked behind, then
rush to see this movie. Otherwise, you will find the premise totally ridiculous
as he leads this cast through saving the world from character generated
little and big aliens who propagate at an unbelievable rate. You will,
however, find Orlando Jones VERY funny as the TOKEN black who knows he
is and frequently has to acknowledge it, and you will enjoy looking at
Julianne Moore's pretty hair. Dan the man Akroid cameos as a pompous governor.
A little profanity, no outright sex, and loads of fun-violence on the aliens.
